22 Weeks - Planning the Nursery!

How far along: 22 weeks, 0 days

Total weight gain: About 16 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Yep.  I discovered Pink Blush Maternity and LOVE their clothes!  They also have a great clearance section.

Stretch Marks: Not yet.  I bought some new lotion (Dream Belly Butter) since I was tired of smelling like cocoa butter.

Sleep:  Hasn't been going well.  My hips have been hurting a lot, and I keep waking up on my back! No matter how many pillows I wedge around me, I still somehow manage to lay on my back.

Best moment this week:  Feeling Grant move and kick.  It's much more regular and I feel him everyday now.

Worst symptom this week: Hip and lower back pain.

Movement: Yes!  Actually just felt a kick while I was typing this.

Food cravings:  Tobasco!!

Anything making you queasy: Nope

Have you started to show yet:  Yes! Pretty sure I look pregnant now to strangers.

Gender prediction:  It's a boy! Confirmed at 15 and 20 weeks!

Labor signs:  Too soon!

Belly Button:  In, but getting shallower.

Wedding Rings:  On, but I had a couple of mornings where my fingers were swollen.

Happy or Moody:  Happy

Milestones: Started buying furniture for the nursery.  Here is the inspiration board that I made with our furniture, the bedding I picked out, and the accessories I plan on ordering:

Looking forward to:  Seeing him again at 24 weeks, and hopefully passing my glucose test.

20 weeks - I felt him move!

How far along: 20 weeks, 0 days

Total weight gain: About 16 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Becoming a regular thing now! I plan on building up my wardrobe this weekend.  Maternity shirts just fit so much better and I'm tired of squeezing into my regular shirts and pulling them down all day.

Stretch Marks: Not yet

Sleep:  It's been better! My hips have started hurting when I lay down, so I have to turn over a few times in the night.

Best moment this week:  I felt Grant move! I've been feeling little pokes occasionally, but I wasn't 100% sure it was him.  I drank a glass of ice water, and about 5 minutes later I felt a lot of movement in my belly and I was positive it was the baby moving around.  Since I know what I'm looking for now, I've noticed him moving around a few times a day.

Worst symptom this week: Hip and lower back pain.

Movement: Finally feeling some movement.  It's not very strong and you have to be paying attention to notice it, but it is there. :)

Food cravings:  Nothing in particular this week.

Anything making you queasy: Nope :)

Have you started to show yet:  Yes! At my 20 week appointment my uterus was above my belly button, so that explains why I'm showing a lot more now.

Gender prediction:  It's a boy! Confirmed at 15 and 20 weeks!

Labor signs:  Too soon!

Belly Button:  In, but getting shallower.

Wedding Rings:  On!

Happy or Moody:  Happy

Milestones: Made it to the halfway point!

Looking forward to:  Seeing him again at 24 weeks, and hopefully passing my glucose test.

19 Weeks

How far along: 19 weeks, 0 days

Total weight gain: About 10 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: 1 pair of jeans and 1 shirt so far.  I see a big shopping trip in my near future.  None of my clothes fit anymore!

Stretch Marks: Not yet

Sleep:  Sleep has been rough the past week.  I'm dealing with a lingering cough from the flu and I wake up all night coughing.

Best moment this week:  I think I'm getting closer to being well.  I don't cough 24/7 anymore, so I feel like I am improving!

Worst symptom this week: I started getting heartburn this week and I've also been getting stabbing pain in my lower back/hip area when I walk.

Movement: I've had a few moments where I think I feel something, but it's always so quick that I'm not sure.  I'm hoping that by next week he is big enough that I can feel something and know for sure it's him.

Food cravings:  Mandarin oranges

Anything making you queasy: Drainage :(

Have you started to show yet:  Yes! My belly is looking pretty round at this point. My bellybutton is getting shallower too.

Labor signs:  Too soon!

Belly Button:  In, but getting shallower.

Wedding Rings:  On!

Happy or Moody:  Happy

Milestones: I think we found crib bedding we like.  We are also closer to deciding on a middle name.

Looking forward to:  Feeling movement.  I'm still hoping I can feel something by week 20.

18 weeks

How far along: 18 weeks, 0 days

Total weight gain: About 10 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: 1 pair of jeans and 1 shirt so far.  I am having to wear long tank tops under my regular shirts now so that they are long enough.

Stretch Marks: Not yet

Sleep:  Sleeping is getting easier.  I'm getting up to go to the bathroom less and less.

Best moment this week:  Christmas :)  We have a growing collection of baby things.  Seems like a lot to me since we have 5 months to go, but I know we are going to be getting so much more in the weeks to come!

Movement: Nothing yet, I found out I have an anterior placenta, so it will be closer to 20 weeks before I feel anything :(

Food cravings:  Milk and mandarin oranges (not at the same time)

Anything making you queasy: The Flu :(

Have you started to show yet:  Yes!  My bellybutton is getting shallower too.

Gender prediction:  It's a boy! Confirmed!

Labor signs:  Too soon!

Belly Button:  In, but getting shallower.

Wedding Rings:  On!

Milestones: Made it through Christmas, with the flu, while pregnant.  Also, the husband and I agreed on crib bedding, only to discover it was discontinued 2 years ago and cannot be bought ANYWHERE (even Amazon/eBay!)

Looking forward to:  Feeling movement.  I'm hoping I can feel something by week 20.

Food cravings:  Sour Punch Straws!

Anything making you queasy: Thought the nausea was gone but it came back in FULL FORCE!

Have you started to show yet:  My bump is getting bigger!

Gender prediction:  It's a boy! Confirmed!

Labor signs:  Too soon!

Belly Button:  In!

Wedding Rings:  On!

Happy or Moody:  Still moody!

Milestones: Chose a first name :)

Looking forward to:  Feeling movement

We had a gender reveal party to tell our families and here are a few pictures from the party.

We based our cake off of our invitation (which I ordered here).

We chose to color the frosting blue and have chocolate cake (we LOVE our local bakery's chocolate cake)

Here's the table!

The blue punch recipe I found here. I wasn't a fan, but in the recipe's defense, I grabbed white grape juice instead of white cranberry juice, so I'm sure that made a difference! It was a beautiful color though!

The Pink Punch was a HUGE hit!  You can find that recipe here! I threw in some pretzels and marshmallows dipped in white chocolate and pink/blue sprinkles.

We had guests wear "It's a Boy!" or "It's a Girl!" stickers based on their prediction.

And they also voted on the bulletin board by pinning either a bow or tie with their name on it.

Here was the final tally! Looks like everyone had a feeling :)

Best moment this week:  Hitting 14 weeks! Officially in the 2nd trimester!

Movement: Nothing yet, but I'm hoping for small flutters soon.

12 Weeks today!

Baby M at 11 weeks, 3 days

Baby M's adorable little hands!

I had to start off with pictures of my little plum :) Well today I am officially 12 weeks! The baby is now the size of a peach and is moving all around.

How far along: 12 weeks, 0 days

Total weight gain: About 7-8 lbs :( I blame the intense hunger that came with weeks 6-11!

Maternity Clothes: Caved and bought a pair of maternity jeans.  Best decision ever.  Even though it's bloating at this point, it hurt having a button dig into my uterus when I sat down.

Stretch Marks: Not yet

Sleep:  Am able to stay up a little later now, but I am still waking up a few times a night.  I've also noticed that I'm having a hard time getting comfortable because my lower back is hurting.

Best moment this week:  Getting to see my sweet baby again.  We had the NT testing done and I loved seeing the tiny legs and hands.

Movement: Still too early, but I'm so ready to feel flutters!

Food cravings:  fruit smoothies!

Anything making you queasy: Getting hot, still get queasy after dinner.

Have you started to show yet:  I think I'm starting to have a little bit of a bump down low, but at this point it's still bloating!

Gender prediction:  Been dreaming about boys and girls, so who knows!

Labor signs:  Too soon!

Belly Button:  In!

Wedding Rings:  On!

Happy or Moody:  Still moody!

Weekly Wisdom:  Don't fight maternity clothes! The stretchy waistband pants are SO much more comfortable than having a button and zipper digging into your stomach.  Especially when your stomach ends up so much more bloated by the end of the day.

Milestones: Only 1 week left in the first trimester!

Looking forward to:  Finding out the gender in 21 days :) I'm so ready to start saying "he" or "she" when I talk about the baby AND we can pick a name.  We decided not to think hard about it until we knew the gender.
