Christmas Wreath

Finally found a magnetic wreath holder for my door so that I could hang my wreath.  Here is a close up of the finished product:

I got all of my supplies from Hobby Lobby. I used ribbon, ornaments, bells, and painted a wooden letter to match.  I used a hot glue gun to attach all of the decor.  It was pretty difficult to attach the flat letter to the round wreath, but with enough glue sticks you can do anything :)

Here is a shot of the entire door and another close up:

This was such a fun project and I'm happy with how it turned out.  It was so easy to do! I hope I inspired you to make your own :)

  2. Very nice! Where did you find the magnetic wreath holder? I have the kind that hang over the door and it is so windy at my house that my door is all scratched up. This probably wouldn't help that situation, but I could use it inside.

  6. Do you have a DIY tutorial on how you made this?

  7. Leesa - I tried writing up a tutorial, but realized that I didn't do anything in particular. I just bought a lot of ornaments, bells, ribbon, and other decor, and just started hot gluing it to the wreath. :) Nothing special! Just played around with the positioning until I liked what I had come up with.

  10. Did you tie the ribbon in bows or just glue down pieces?

  11. I didn't tie them in bows, but I did sort of bunch them together (in two loops) to give it the bow look. I would hot glue the ribbon into two loops, then hot glue the ribbon to the wreath. There were a few spots where I wanted the ribbon to be long strands, so I didn't do anything special to those.

    Good luck!

  15. I painted the letter. I just used regular acrylic paint and round foam brushes.

  16. AMAZING! I'm thinking of doing it exactly like this except doing the monogram in a sparkly silver!
question...would you recommend doing all of the ribbon first then going back and adding the ornament balls? or just starting at the top and piecing your way down?

  17. It would look great with a silver letter! I recommend starting at the top and working your way down. Sometimes I would glue the ornament and then place the ribbon around, and other times I'd glue the ornament on top of the ribbon. It just depended on how it looked. When I finished going all the way down, I went back and filled in spots that looks sparse. I'm sure you could do it either way, I didn't have a game plan going in though!

  18. Lindsey, you said that all your supplies came from Hobby Lobby. So, what size letter "M" is that, and did nthey come smaller. My HL doesn't appear to nhave this size letter for the wreath!

FYI, your wreath is Beautiful, Really!!!

  20. About how much did I cost for you to do it? I'm on a tight budget so I'm making gifts myself. Just curious :) thanks

    1. It cost me around $50 to make, but that's mainly because I didn't have anything of the materials stocked up and had to buy everything on the wreath. If you already had ribbon and a few ornaments, it wouldn't be very expensive. I also bought everything at Hobby Lobby, I'm sure I could have gone cheaper if I had gone to Wal-Mart.
