4th Anniversary - Maui, Hawaii

4th year of marriage is officially in the books! That means that we just got back from our anniversary vacation.  So far we've made it a tradition to go on vacation every year to celebrate our marriage.  I know that it will probably change now that we've started our family, but we are definitely enjoying it while it lasts. :)

This year we decided to go back to Maui.  I know, I know.  Again? Yep.  It's our third time to go.  We honeymooned there, spent our 2nd anniversary there, and now our 4th.  We absolutely love it!

But enough of that, here are some pictures from this trip!

Gotta start it off with a GoPro selfie.  We usually only get 1-2 pics of us together, so here is one.

My husband loves trying to find me a new profile picture.  So lots of pictures of me!

I loved this shot during the sunset.  Sporting one of my favorite Stitch Fix dresses.  Check out my Stitch Fix posts if you are interested!

And of course the gorgeous views everywhere!

There were some huge waves this trip due to the 3 hurricanes that went around Hawaii so we saw a lot of surfing.

We were so lucky to see a perfect sunrise from the top of Haleakala this trip.  We tried last time, but it was worst case scenario weather and it was cloudy, rainy, and you couldn't even see the sun.  This time it was totally worth waking up at 2am and freezing our butt off at the top! It was 48 degrees and windy up there.

So there you go! A great trip! Looking forward to what year 5 has in store for us.

3 Year Anniversary - Cancun

David and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary last week.  Can you believe it's been 3 years?  Here's a link to a post on our wedding if you are interested.  I'll start this post with a collage of pictures from our wedding day :)

We started the tradition (if you can call 2 years in a row a tradition lol) of going on a vacation every year for our anniversary.  We've gone to Dallas, back to Maui, and this year decided to go to Cancun.  We weren't sure how we'd feel about leaving the baby, so we booked it at the last minute and only stayed 4 nights.  We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara in an Oceanfront Deluxe King Suite.  We loved it! It had a wrap around balcony, jacuzzi tub, awesome shower and the bed was so comfy!

One thing that I loved about this resort was all of the cabanas on the beach.  Our suite came with a reserved cabana so we didn't have to go out and save one each morning.

The infinity pool was gorgeous!

We were planning on just being lazy at the resort, but we ended up booking a deep sea fishing trip.

My husband caught a huge red snapper and I caught some small fish they used as bait haha

Turtles were coming to lay their eggs during our trip and we got to see baby turtles hatch and make their way out of their nests! We even got to release some into the ocean at night.  It was such a cool experience.

We really enjoyed ourselves and caught all caught up on sleep.  I FaceTimed twice a day with Grant and we were so happy to come home and see him.  He's been all smiles since he's been home, so I think he may have missed us a little bit :)

We had a great time and are already planning our trip for our 4 year anniversary!

2 Year Anniversary!

This year we celebrated our 2 year anniversary at the same place we spent our honeymoon, Maui! We stayed at the same resort, but this time we really explored the island! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

The hills and valleys are just as gorgeous as the ocean to me.

Looked out our balcony window one afternoon and noticed this rainbow! It only lasted about 2 minutes so we were very lucky to catch it.

We took some pics to celebrate our 2 years :)

And... we came home with a special souvenir!  The day we got home I got a positive pregnancy test!

So be on the lookout for baby Martinez next June :)

One Year Milestone

The card that David gave me was absolutely perfect. It really describes our long relationship. We met in high school. I was a freshman, and he was a senior. We started dating that following summer (I was 15). We stayed together through about 4 years of long distance dating, never broke up once, supported each others dreams, managed to find full time careers, definately grew up together, and managed to defy the odds and marry our high school sweethearts. I'm proud of where we are today.
It's crazy how fast time goes by.  One year ago today I was getting ready to say, "I Do".

One year ago, my grandmother, Marnie, was still here to celebrate with my family.  Sadly, she passed away in August, and I still feel her loss. I'm so glad that she was able to be a part of my wedding.

So much has transpired since our wedding, good and bad, but I am so thankful to have my husband by my side throughout all of it.

He is my rock and I feel so lucky that he chose me to become his wife.

Now on to the celebration!  We spent the weekend in downtown Dallas, TX.  We stayed at the Hyatt Regency and we LOVED it! It was so modern and clean!

It had a gorgeous view too, with a chaise lounge right next to the window :)

We had to take a photo in the elevator ceiling mirror lol

We had dinner at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant, Five Sixty. It is in the Reunion Tower, and rotates the entire time so that you see all of Dallas while you eat.

I'd totally recommend checking it out.  I ordered the pork chop and it was delicious!

We had a blast on our trip and we look forward to many more years to come. :)

Mexico Trip - 2012

My husband and I had our first all inclusive experience this summer in Mexico at Iberostar Paraiso Beach.  Here are a few shots that we were able to capture:

And now for the animals. :)

I have a small peacock obsession... as you can tell from the pictures below!

Sweet baby peacocks :)
